Support abounds after dog was shot
In July, while visiting in Vermont, we witnessed the violent
shooting death of our beloved dog, SHADOW. We would like to take
this opportunity to thank the many kind, caring and generous people
who have responded to our plea for support.
Madeline Davis of Annapolis is an angel of mercy and a pillar of
strength. She learned of this horrific crime and contacted us to
offer assistance. Not a day passes that Madeline is not contacting
animal welfare organizations, government officials in Vermont,
writing letters, making telephone calls, collecting donations and
giving us moral support. If there is anything good to come out of
this horrific experience, it is the friendship we have formed with
such an amazing and loving person.
We have posted fliers and donation boxes in many of SHADOW's
favorite visiting spots: Eastport Deli, Paws, Pet Value, Pit Boys,
Eastport Cleaners, Regal Rags and PetSmart.
"For SHADOW's Sake," a fund for donations has been established at
Annapolis Bank and Trust. All donations are being used toward our
mounting legal fees to prosecute the man who killed our precious
furry little boy.
We are grateful to each person who has contributed to "For SHADOW's
Sake" and for each letter written to Vermont officials bringing
awareness of this crime. The kindness of such caring people helps us
to afford the legal counsel needed to prosecute SHADOW's killer. The
generosity of so many people gives our family hope and faith that
SHADOW's death will not be in vain.
We have strength knowing that so many people are helping us. We have
a long legal battle ahead of us, but the kindness of so many people
makes each step easier.
Thank you from our hearts,
DENIS, SARAH and LUCY SCHEELE
